When you use Study Along Online, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and, if provided, your name.
• Study activity: your answers, timing, bookmarks, and results on practice questions and mock exams, used to power your statistics dashboard and study plan.
• Billing information, if you subscribe to a paid plan: this is handled directly by our payment processor — we do not store your full card number on our servers.
• Basic technical data (such as browser type and general usage patterns) to keep the Service reliable.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your account and study progress.
• Send transactional email (account confirmation, password resets) and, if you opt in, a daily practice digest.
• Process payments for paid subscriptions.
• Improve the Service, including the accuracy and coverage of practice content.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-party services

We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service, each of which processes data on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Resend — transactional and digest email delivery.
• A payment processor (where paid plans are offered) — subscription billing.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences (like dark mode). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data by contacting us, or by using the relevant controls in your account settings. You can unsubscribe from the daily digest at any time from the digest settings page or via the unsubscribe link in any digest email.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
